Live delivery RSW Systems

The ability to mimic the conditions that shrimp, crab and lobster require to remain lively and in good health, requires careful temperature control, water recirculation and aeration. We design and manufacture live delivery RSW systems that achieve nearly zero dead-loss.

Titanium Chillers & RSW for Temperature Control

Titanium chillers are required to keep seafood alive, as the copper used in copper nickel chillers is toxic to some seafood species. Titanium chillers are superb for transferring heat, holding the pressure of refrigeration and for use in marine environments, as they are non-corrosive. You can set the temperature of the system to match the temperature of the seawater where the seafood is harvested.

Seafood in holds can deposit ammonia and other chemical by-products, therefore water needs to be recirculated to ensure these by-products are flushed from the system. Oxygen is another critical component to maintaining your live catch. Air is pumped into the holds in order to keep water properly oxygenated to maintain your live catch. The entire system works together to keep the seafood alive and of optimum quality until it can be delivered for processing.

Specialized Solutions for Live Seafood

IMS is known for its innovation and creative problem solving. Just as each vessel working live delivery fisheries have unique needs, processors may also face the need to integrate new equipment into their existing operations. For instance, a vessel that operates as a barge in the off-season, may need to work as a crab tender for a portion of the year. In this case, we can outfit the vessel with a removable live delivery system without losing function and efficiency for either task. We have experience engineering, and assisting with installs of a number of live delivery systems. We never take a one size fits all approach - we always assess your situation and unique needs and work to collaboratively develop a solution with the customer.
